Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday evening at the TD Bank located at 8661 Colesville Road in Silver Spring.

On August 1, 2011, at approximately 6:33 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the TD Bank located at 8661 Colesville Road for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.  Preliminary investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the bank, posed as a customer, and handed a note to the teller demanding cash.  No weapon was implied or seen.  After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect exited the bank and was last seen walking southbound on Fenton Avenue.  No one was injured during the incident. 
        
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 35 years of age, 5’ 10” tall, and weighing 175 pounds.  The suspect was last seen wearing a beige baseball style cap, yellow shirt, and beige shorts. The suspect was carrying a light colored shopping bag.
